Hi there
I have a small collection of beads and jewellery that I'd like to show friends and aquantances with a view to selling a few pieces.
I'm trying to think of how to display them and wondered if you guys had any ideas
It needs to stop the items from falling about while traveling and be nice to show people
What would you do  ;D

Have a look in the "craft fair display" section on here - there's some great ideas.

You can also get special jewellery display boxes which have slots for mandrels, so you can thread your beads on and they won't get tossed around in transit. (You can get these on Etsy but I haven't seen a supplier in the UK ...)

Just a thought but perhaps you could make a case by fixing 20mm strip wood around two pieces of 6mm mdf fitting hinges a handle and catch. This will make a shallow "attache case" which you could paint and then line with foam covered in fabric. The jewellery could then be pinned to the fabric to hold it in place for display. On arriving at the venue simply open the case and lay flat or stand upright and wait for the money to flow in.

If you dont want to make a case perhaps you could buy one and customize it.

Sorry Jane could you tell me where the 'craft fair display' section is.
I don't seem to be very good at doing a search.

thanks Glyn, I was thinking of making something but thought it might be worth seeing if anyone has something that would do the job.
I did think of a puzzle holder but they seem to be rather large.

Hi. Sorry I can't find it myself right now ... saw it a few days ago! Scroll through the posts in the business section http://www.frit-happens.co.uk/forum/index.php?board=71.0 and see what interests you.

The displays I was talking about are this sort of thing: https://www.etsy.com/listing/71067330/display-and-storage-tray-with-glass-lid but they only ship within USA.

Either that, or get one of those nice boxes from The Really Useful Box people (e.g. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Really-Useful-Litre-Box-Trays/dp/B0093IVFW2/) which has trays in it so you can put one necklace or a few beads in each. You could get a couple of sheets of soft foam or wadding to go between the trays to stop them rolling about.

Or get a Jewellery Roll for your necklaces. there's some really nice ones around and they fit nicely in your bag.
