Hi All,

I have some bigger mandrels (not as big as 5mm) which I think are 3.2mm. I'd like to use them in a bead roller/shaper but the mandrels are too fat for my normal ones, can I use them in a roller which is designed for 5mm or won't they work due to the mandrel moving about too much? Before I spend money I thought I'd check if anyone else has used it and whether it works.

Thanks

Karen

tish

you could try double dipping the mandrels to make them fatter

Yep I do - I don't double dip as increases the chance of release breakage. Keep eyeballing down the mandrel to keep everything centred.

I use these mandrels for the larger hole reamers too!

I don't know if this helps, but I have been using the 3.2mm mandrels with bead rollers that have been made for 2.4mm mandrels and it works well.
