changing gas bottle .....stuck ....help !

any one got any handy tips for undoing the nut on the gas bottle mine is stuck solid  ....and i need to change it to a small one for a demo on saturday

and i am doing it the right way aint i ...anti clockwise ?

Anti clockwise to do up so clockwise to undo  my brains frazzeled but i think thats the right way !!

Yep, reverse threads - so clockwise to undo.

thanks chicks ...no matter how many times i do it i still have to think ...i have done it now (got son out of bed  to add a bit of weight to the problem )

hi,

Do what I did, I made a small disc of card with a round arrow on it and labled it with Tight/loose on the arrow heads

I made a small hole in it and it has a piece of string through it that I tie on to the gas cylinder to reminde me which way to do up and undo the nut

I also have a similar one to remind me which way to open/close the gas cos I keep forgetting.

I bring the new gas canister in first. Then I start to unscrew the black screw pluggy thing - whichever way it unscrews is the same way the old canister needs unscrewing
