Hello

This is a long shot and I'm not sure if there is anyone who can help.
I would love an oxycon as cylinder oxygen is just so expensive here in New Zealand.
The one person who I know had reconditioned oxygen machines doesn't have any at the moment (and perhaps for a long time).

Is there anyone who can ship them to NZ and what is the criteria I should check to find out if they would work here? I have found one in Oz for the equivilent of 700 pound but I was hoping to get one a bit more cheaply.

Can they be bought from the USA?

I've emailed Tuffnells and am just waiting on a reply.

Fingers crossed. I would love to do this over winter (April, May onwards for me) and any help would be arrpreciated.

Cheers

There are a fair few places in the US that sell them - my son will be coming back from NZ at Xmas for a visit and then going back to Fox Glacier, I don't know if it would be more expensive for him to bring one with him or not as I don't travel myself?  One of the Oz places was having a sale on oxy's, not sure if that's still on or not.

Thank you that is very kind of you to offer :-) You must be looking forward to your son's visit.

I am however hoping to get one in the next month or so, so I can get stuck in this New Zealand winter.
I will go and have another look at the Oz sites.

Yes, I thought Affordable Inspirations in Tassie was having a sale on these as I am thinking of getting one sent to Adelaide for when I am there for September - to save using bottled oxy all the time!

Is there any mileage in trying to get one that hasn't been refurbed and doing it yourself? I don't know how extensive the refurbishment has to be, but it might be fairly straightforward.

HI Shirley.
I did think about that, but honestly I have no clue about oxycons, and what refurbishment even means :-) Living in NZ I should give it a go as kiwis pride themselves on their ingenuity.
