Bead in a Bead Techniques

Stacy flagged to me that she was finding it hard to secure a bead inside a hollow bead. For myself I dont particlarly enjoy making these as its hard to clean the bead inside and maybe doing one that will just rattle around inside after. Or if it has to be strung, both the inner and outer bead will be difficult to thread perhaps. But cleaning them after is what deters me the most.

If you do want to create that bead inside a bead look... try laying down a slim tubular bead in clear, or a contrasting shade to what you wrap around as your tiny inside bead. Then make your hollow around the innner bead, being careful not to allow the casing glass to touch the core bead.... easy...NOT...

Use thin rods to do your hollow encasing as they melt quicker for the extensive winding you need to do.

This is my pseudo bead in a bead...but it aint floating about...

Like I told you I've been have a mare trying to get the middle bead off the mandrel but actually attaching it to the hollow with the tubing will defo fix that... can't wait now!!
