The theme of the month challenge is jointly sponsored by Tuffnels (thank you Martin!) and Frit Happens!

Each month the lucky winner, chosen by a random number selector, will receive a £20 gift voucher to spend on-line with Tuffnels. The draw will take place on at the end of the month so make sure you get your entries (beads and jewellery) in to be in with a chance to win the goodies!

So, the theme of the month for AUGUST 2011 is THIS LOVELY POEM - SEPTEMBER BY HELEN HUNT JACKSON

The goldenrod is yellow,
The corn is turning brown,
The trees in apple orchards
With fruit are bending down;

The gentian's bluest fringes
Are curling in the sun;
In dusty pods the milkweed
Its hidden silk has spun;

The sedges flaunt their harvest
In every meadow nook,
And asters by the brookside
Make asters in the brook;

From dewy lanes at morning
The grapes' sweet odors rise;
At noon the roads all flutter
With yellow butterflies–

By all these lovely tokens
September days are here,
With summer's best of weather
And autumn's best of cheer.

Feel free to interpret the theme in whichever way you choose!

Good luck!

She's made of real glass. She got real real emotion. But my heart laughs I have that same sweet devotion!

There is an awful lot to be thinking about with this one! Colours, shapes, imagery. Shame we can't encapsulate scent into glass isn't it?

Can I please enter a set I've already made ??

Feel free to remove it if I can't  :) It's just such a lovely poem :)

Ooh, I think a couple of the things I made yesterday fit the bill here.

Here we go! Actually, most of the things I've made this month are kind of autumnal, so here are a few. I still had the acid yellow out too.

I have a little yellow butterfly ringtop, not terribly original or thoughtful I'm afraid!

I'm going with orchards and harvest because I've always wanted to try a tree bead and I'm practicing my stringer control.
Here's my second attempt:

 :) Stripes again, in Autumn oranges / brown / yellow this time.

I just love the autumnal colours in this bead - lots of gold and brown.
