flint in mold making

I am thinking of using flint in my mold making rather than silica flour, does anyone use this and do you have any tips thanks Raewyn

We use flint for moulds - afaik, it's the same as silica flour, as flint is silica. We use it in the same proportions.

Yep. I've used both. Didn't notice any real difference. Silica Sand tends to be a bit cheaper.

The only difference you might find is that flint usually comes in a slightly damp form, for safety, so you may need to adjust the amount of water you use when mixing to ensure you don't have too much.  Other than that, I much prefer flint for good strong molds.
