Hello

Just wondered if anyone has used these and managed to get the bead off at the end! I painted the mandrel twice so lots of bead release before I used it and I have soaked it in water and twisted and twisted but it is stuck solid. This is the second one I have tried as had to send the first one back as the cone came off the rod last time with my bead still on it (boo hoo). I am just wondering if I am doing something wrong?

Thanks

Suzie

I used the blue sludge (?) from Martin on mine:

It twisted off fine..

I didn't use too much glass, and had to be careful not to let glass go over the fat end, but it wasn't too much trouble really.

Edit: I dipped mine, maybe painting didn't give a thick enough layer?

I just dipped mine as normal - came off fine. Getting the bed realease off the finished 'bead' was the most difficult.

Have you tried the usual tricks - cola, freezer etc? See the Wiki. :)

I couldnt dip mine as it has quite a lot of mandrel on the end before the cone starts and bead release not deep enough. I did paint on really thick though and I did not go over either end. But have not tried cola or the freezer yet so will do that now, thanks guys.
