Do you leave your kiln on overnight in your home?

Best thing to remember is if your house did burn down the thing left standing would be the kiln It is designed to withstand huge temperatures and so the kiln it's self isn't a danger.
If the worst happens and it stuck on full, it would get hotter and hotter until it's element went and it cooled down, a mess, but a relatively safe mess.

The danger comes with what is around the kiln. Have you left the newspaper on top? An aerosol leaning against it? The curtains draped down the side of it? You favorite book under it? You see, if you have, say a foot clearance all round it and the surface you have it on is relatively stable and not made of wicker then you should be fine.

As with all things related to your wonderful chosen medium, common sense prevails.

We leave the Kilncare Hobby on overnight in the conservatory frequently.

Just remember to test your smoke alarms before bed.

I have a smoke alarm, I don't think it has a battery though....  (The CO monitor has definitely got batteries and winks at me regularly to let me know it's watching over me)

Yup, BeadCube and I leave it going overnight. My torching's in the evenings during the week, so I kinda have to!
