Please could someone help?
I've used my oxycon 5 or 6 times. Today the gauge won't go above zero, though it is making its usual noises. I've tried a few times. I got it from Tuffnells and it's practically new. Any advice gratefully received.

Get back onto Martin, he will sort you out Sandie.

I know this sounds a bit daft, but have you double checked that the torch valve is open fully? I've done this before!!!  :)

If not, Martin is a good bet  :)

Good idea and it would be like me not to!
I'm wondering if it just got cold and damp. It's in a static caravan and we've had deep frosts lately, and as I leave the windows open it's quite damp in there. I've rubbed it down lovingly and dragged in a leccy radiator and shut the door, so it should get quite cosy. I'll try again in an hour or so. Please send it positive thoughts!

hollergrafik

you could also try the lifting it a few inches and dropping it.

sandie

Oh! I didn't know that would help. Thank you! Off to try it now...

Sending your oxycon happy thoughts Sandie, hope he gets sorted soon :-*

Like Hazel says make sure the torch is open or not blocked. Try unscrewing the oxy pipe at the green nozzle on the unit to see if it goes up.

Happy thoughts, happy thoughts, happy thoughts!  ;D

He'd have gone home by that time. Would have rung in the morning.

It worked! I lifted it a bit, dropped it (gingerly and with everything crossed), and it purred away happily!
And I made a bead! Rubbish by any standards, but actually vaguely bead-shaped! Thank you thank you thanks you!  :-* :-* :-*

Dragonfire Glass

We could do with a 'what you do when your oxycon won't cooperate' list  :D
