fine silver wire in fusing..do i need to clean it up?

Can anyone help me..have used some fine silver wire in fusing finally, but do i need to clean it up in any way before setting it free???It seems a little course after fusing. But i like the result a lot.
also if i want to grind down anybits on the actual cab would it withstand a fire polishing as well?

Well, it is now starting to starting to tarnish, as tho i have liver of sulphered it .....shame..looked good initially...any hints?
