Hi, iv now made three beads and one cool snake since i bought
my setup, the beads are now six half's and the snake is without
his/her head, so i guess i need a kiln, so the question is where
to buy from and which one, is it worth waiting for a good one
to turn up on ebay or buy new, i have about £500/700 budget
cheaper if possible, the sc3 looks good, what do you guys think?

thanks for looking

Mark

Hi Mark,

I have had an SC3 for the past year. I haven't used it for annealing yet, I only made my first bead today!
I ordered it with a bead door, so I shall be annealing in it very soon.
I have used it very sucessfully for enamelling, and it is also big enough for sintering Bronze and Copper clay,
which I have also tried.
I got mine from www.paragonkilns.co.uk. The website is a bit confusing, but they were very helpful on the phone
and gave me a discount when I asked, compared to their online price.
I'd recommend it as a good multipurpose kiln.

Buy British, Kilncare do the bead cube which is perfect if you are annealing.

Hi I bought the SC2 with window and bead door. Got my whole set up through Off-Mandrel, they were really helpful with what I needed to order, I got everything in one go, torch kiln, oxy glass tools etc, it was wonderful, they pulled the whole thing together, had things come from all over the country, but through them and all in a couple of days. They were also easy to reach on the phone and you get a discount when you sign up, have a look , I can't praise them enough.

I got a bead cube on Wednesday, I love it, the best bit for me is the fact that it comes with the 2 programmes I'm going to use the most already set up so it take no time at all to get going.

Me too, Sean at Off Mandrel helped me with the order and some glass. All you guys have praised your suppliers for everything going right.  There was a little hick-up with my kiln and Sean was fantastic helping go through and sort it all out.  It did get to the stage that I had phoned so many times he recognised my voice!  But no hint of getting fed up with the number of calls.  So I will say still fantastic even when things don't go quite according to plan.  Also talked me through programming the kiln, which is very simple.
