Hiya;

Ive got an Aim84BD its a firebrick kiln with the metal bands around; keeping it all together.

Im a little worried because I have a chunk of the firebrick which has broken off on the top layer, I keep pushing it back into place but it falls back down and it rests on the element :o

The lid covers the chunk, but Is this a problem?  My kiln is cracked a fair bit but not right through this is the worst bit... :-\

Is there any way of healing it?

Pat from Canvey

This happened with my big ceramic kiln and I bought a tub of what is called Fire Cement from Wickes. Basically you just spread it on as if you are bricklaying and tape the piece in place to allow the cement to dry. I've had no problems since. The brick was in the door and was expanding when I did pot melts and combing of glass, such that when I opened the door to comb the glass, pressure was put on the bricks, causing them to crack. Good luck

We do but we don't push it, we mainly sell as an add on to a kiln sale.

Hit the little pound sign for the prices.

If you want some Batt Wash I'll chuck you enough cement in for a minor brick repair.
