Oh joy unbounded, I've spent my first evening on the bulk HH setup  ;D

Anyway, I was wondering whether it is safe to leave the tank end connected??

After extinguishing the Hothead, I turned off the tank's own valve (the one with the plus and minus on it) and then opened the valve on the HH to let the gas in the tube escape. Then I closed the HH valve again. Is it safe to leave it like this, or should I use the wrench to get the regulator off the tank? (I'm worried that all the connecting and disconnecting won't do the brass nut any good!) I was thinking about those 'splitters' that Martin sells, but then the regulator would still be attached to the tank wouldn't it?

Be glad to hear what the rest of you bulk HH users do  ???

I use the quick connects, and leave the regulator on the tank. I've just upgraded from a washing up bowl to keep it dry, to a storage box thingy! I always disconnected the hose even before I got the quick-release fittings, but then my hose goes out an open window.

Well my tank is out in the garage, so do you think it'll be ok to leave it having bled the pipe of propane?

I wouldn't think that would be a problem, as long as it's all out the house. That's what worried me, the risk of a leak indoors.

Thank you so much for all your advice and support, Mary, you're a star  ;D
Hopefully, I'll be quiet for a bit, while I learn more about the way glass behaves!!

i'm not sure if thats what your ment to do but it's what i do, as long as everything is turned off properly, i can't keep my propane in the garden as i don't trust the dogs not to chew it
