Hello Vicki! Where've you been?  ;D

Edi (Edith)

I used polystyrene sheets bought in 8x4 sheets for the insulation. They come in different thickness.  Very easy to fit and shape. I bought enough for walls roof and floor. But at the moment I am so frustrated waiting for more inner skin boards to come . I had the workbench wood and the workbench frame wood delivered today. I should have bought it all from same place. On top of this I have run out of MAP gas and I am waiting for OH to make me a support for hothead so I cant use my big cylinder. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO FRUSTRATED

Hi!

I am just in the process of converting my 6x10 ft shed into a beady studio. It's a wooden shed and I've lined the walls and roof by stapling on a foil/bubblewrap liner on a roll (£13 from Wickes for 5m - I've used 4 rolls). Then in the dips between the battens, I've put in a 1 inch thick foam insulation called Recticel (£11 per 4ftx8ft sheet from Jewsons- I've used 4). Finally I've screwed 6mm mdf board on top of everything (£15 per sheet 120x240cm - I've used 7 but I have lots of offcuts!). I also laid polystyrene & foil underlay on the floor (£22.50 from Wickes for a huge pack - I've only used half of it), followed by laminate flooring from Homebase - I used 21 planks.

Obviously, I don't know how effective this will be, but hopefully will work! I've also installed blackout blinds from Ikea, which has made a huge difference to how hot it gets with the sun streaming in!!

I am suffering severe hot glass withdrawal though - can't wait to move in when the workbench arrives on Thursday. I haven't got any electricity yet, but at least the house can be cleared of all my beady stuff!

Wood was delivered and I now have inner walls in and insulated floor.
Very big smile at the moment. But will have even bigger smile when it is finished.
If everything turns out alright and I get really involved in bead making then I will have the shed made bigger.
Because I work with enamel and PMC as well.

Sorry about this and I know I keep going on about it. But I cant wait to move in to start using MY bolt hole. It now has its electrics in its painted and we put the carpet in this afternoon. So at the moment its raining and I have to wait untill tomorrow to move in my kilns and tools and hundreds of beads. Luckily they are all in storage draws. My sister is hopefully making me some blinds for both of the windows. At the moment I feel like a child waiting for Christmas.

Finished moving into bolt hole this afternoon, and made my first batch of beads for a while in there. I have a new kiln Paragon SC2 and I turned it on and I made a real mess of programming it in so I turned it of and I am going to have another try tomorrow with OH who understands these things better than I do. Will I be able to anneal the beads I have done today, tomorrow. I hope so.
