Frit stringer

At the risk of sounding really thick.....(not difficult for me)  How can i make a stringer out of frit?  I'm assuming I dip a rod of clear in the frit, heat and pull but what if I want to make a stringer with striking glass??  Will it pre strike and will it be useable after?

Sometimes pre-striking is an advantage, like with raku.

For pure frit stringers, heat a biggish bit and stick to the end of a big mandrel. Keep heating it and dipping in frit till you get a good sized blob to pull. Obviously a bigger grind is easier!
