Hi

I just wanted to let you know that I have managed to resolve the connection problem to propane gas tanks here in Ireland.

For the sake of any other Irish lampworkers or prospective Irish lampworkers here is the situation and solution:

Propane regulator connector (which I purchased as part of the oxycon kit from Tuffnell Glass) expects to connect to Propane tanks that have a POL connection.  Unfortunately the propane tanks in Ireland have the F-type connection and is therefore incompatible with the regulator connector.

Solution: - purchase a 'female' propane adaptor (i.e. female POL connector on one side and a female F-Type connector on the other side) which is the link between the regulator and the propane tank's F-Type connection.  I bought the adaptor today from BOC Gas Ireland for €10.80 (inclusive of VAT).

Hope this helps anhy other aspiring Irish Lampworkers.

:)

I'm glad it's all sorted...I hope you enjoy many happy lampworking days  ;D
