It usually does that when you first enter your order, it does with me if I haven't signed in beforehand.  As soon as I log in, it puts postage on (but takes my discount off!  )

I guess the system assumes that if you haven't logged in, you're a new customer.

I don't worry about it anyway - I just use it as an excuse to add a few things to my basket, make sure I spend £75 to get my free shipping!
