Ok so I've been using 0.3 mm diameter fine silver wire in my beads, but I'm wondering what diameter everyone else uses.

I've seen 0.1 and 0.2 and 0.25 mm diameter.
does anyone use these and are they easy to use or do they go 'pooof' in the flame?

Looking forward to the replies...oh and I have been searching for an answer for about an hour! Lol, some interesting threads came up.
Thank you fritters.

I use .3mm too and like it.  I bought .5mm once and haven't got on with it very well, so I def like the thinner gauges.

Hummm - am not sure without checking, it's dark and a large fox is on the prowl, but will look tomorrow and confirm. Am leaning towards  0.3 at a guess.

0.3 here as well, it was what was recommended on here so what I got!

0.3mm for me as well.  I had some thinner and didn't get on with it so well, think  that was 0.2mm, it burned away too quckly.

I use 0.3 and if I want thicker I twist two strands together.

I think mine's 0.2. The thinner the better for me - it's more flexible. But yes, it does go "poof" in the flame really easily!

Hiya
thank you for the replies.

I'm leaning towards using a thinner wire so I can get more on  ;D even if it does go 'poof'  :D
