Multicolour Dark

If I can get my jaw / tooth ache under control, I might have a little play with this glass..... any handy hints ??
I don't want to waste any

heat super hot, then cool quickly by mashing, marvering, pressing, blowing on it (although i dont recommend this part after v. painful lip burn that looked like a coldsore for a week...ouch!) and then I encased it which seemed to strike it further. Some went purply blue/ green in the kiln, others struck to red. its fun to play with!

Mines is 96 but i found it worked without me trying. Hot head hot work maybe but it was lovely to use.

I think the answer with multi dark is don't try too hard.  It does it's thing without too much trouble and then kiln strikes as well.  Gorgeous glass and not really posh as it's a really reasonable price.

Les - it's 104 so you can use it freely with other glass. Nice with opaques as it is a spreader as well.
Like Diane says you don't have to work hard with this glass at all!

Just what Diane says, don't try too hard! I'm normally crap with striking glasses, but this one seems pretty well behaved 

Oh and I batch anneal and I've found that encased MCD changes completely in the kiln!

It's one of my faves!  As mentioned, it's cheap for a poshie and it seems to do it's own thing  - I often find prettier after annealing, but has such beautiful colours in it!
I haven't tried annealing it straight out of the flame yet, I've always let it cool and batch annealed, but I hope to find some playtime tomorrow!

OMG I have just had amazing results with this glass, did nothing but work it in the flame like any other glass and the most amazing colours have popped out, I will post pics tomorrow

I got some beautiful colours from it too, ordinary black base, rolled in frit, a lot of heat then encased in ordinary clear
