Luna 2 Pale rods

Hi

I have some Luna 2 rods that are pale - I'm having trouble getting colours out of them as I do with the darker ones.


I'm going to try and re-anneal at a higher temp, but has anyone else got any hints or tips please?

I'm curious too.... have some pale rods over here as well but haven't had the guts yet to try them...

I've got 4 types of DH silver glass that I haven't got a scooby what to do with!  I don't even know what they are called!!!

Well I had a very quick play tonight, just a spacer bead. Got it super hot, then cooled til it cracked. Re heated it till it melted back together. Got it White hot again, let it cool again but not as much, then struck it  by keeping it in the flame till it went dark!!

Fingers crossed this works!

I will still try and re anneal the other ones at a higher temp!

Well, I put the beads in to anneal again at a higher temperature (545°C) and they have struck more to a darker shade - but not lots of colours. Might try again. Wish I'd taken a picture of them when I took them from the kiln the first time!

But I also made some more nuggets like these

they didn't look brilliant going into the klin, but they have got colours now - more in the middle, a bit like a negative of these. And I used the same base glass! pictures to follow!
