I went to Gem 'n' Bead show this morning, to collect an order from Martin.

Martin very kindly put me a small selection of Double Helix together (for my Hot Head)

Now one rod is marked as Triton,  but the other two types of rods were not names, so I was hoping that someone who knows their Double Helix might be able to let me know which ones I have.

One is a transparent purple colour and the other is an opaque browny green.

DH Psyche is dark transparent purple. It reduces to beautiful blues/purples/greens.

DH Terra Nova 2 is dark brown/grey with a lighter brown core. It's a striker, and produces many beautiful colours.

DH Ekho looks medium brown with a transparent reddish core (if you hold it up to the light the rod looks half transparent). It both strikes and reduces. First you strike it, then you can choose to reduce it afterwards - well, that's what I do, anyway. Can give beautiful purples and pinks/blues under encasement.

There might be other candidates for the brown one - I am not a DH expert, so please speak up if you think you know what it might be  :D

Thanks Julie

The Transparent Purple one is a light reddish purple and I have made a bead over a white base and it has come out with a greeny gold metallic finish.

The greeny brown rod has made a bead over white of shades of green and blue but it looks a bit muddy so not sure if I did the right thing with the rod  ???

I will try to take some pictures later.

HH on Bulk,

sounds to me like the light transparent one could be Aurae, that often goes a gold metallic colour for me and the other one most likely Ekho, which really doesnt like too much reduction (i dont even really think you need to bother reducing it on the hot head) but it strikes also
HTH  :)
