I've tried effetre Reds and always find the colour runs or truns to orange. I get the same effect but not so prounounced with bullseye. Anyone got any tips / alternative suggestions?

Have you tried the Effetre dark red? It's more of a crimson - hasn't gone orange when I've used it. (I'm not sure if the one I've got is 436 or 438, think it's 436). What do you mean by runs?

effetre purple red has not gone wrong for me yet! thats number 438, the dark red is 436, they are similar but i prefer the purple red!

I always find they lighten if I encase them, I like light red,but not encased. but then maybe its too orange for you.

purple red is nice, but I tend to find it too dark.

CIM sangre - looks translucent but work it long and hard enough and it will go a gorgeous bright opaque red.

Totally agree with Kaz - It's one of the truest reds I have used:

I had the same problem a while back and found that Effetre dark red stayed a nice red colour.
