I used this glass in a pendant, and now I'm not sure how I can put it up for sale (it was going to a local clothes shop with some others), as it looks purple in daylight and blue in other lights.. shall I just write a description with it, or not bother as I can see it causing trouble! I really love this glass myself, it's a little bit of magic, but I suppose if you think it's going to go with your new purple top and then you go out for the evening..

Just wondered if anyone else uses this much, and whether they say anything on the tag?

Could you say colour shifts blue through purple in the description and the tag bluey purple? I love the colour but haven't had the chance to use it much...

I would definitely describe it as colour shift, there are some very gorgeous fabrics that do exactly that purple/blue shift so the very fact that you describe it as such may be the selling point.

Perhaps you could advise them to look at it in daylight before purchasing

I love Alexandrite, it also stikes to pinky purple too

"Real" alexandrite does the same thing - and it's a selling point. Also - if you have a good look at your Didymniums they'll do the same thing too.
I had a customer who went nuts for alexandrite just because it changed colour in this manner. Just say it changes like the real thing and frankly if people can't appreciate the magic of this colour change then they shouldn't be buying it!

I never noticed this until the other day, when I panicked because the lenses had turned blue... ::) :D
