Silver Brown is doing my head in!!!

I have definitely angered the glass gods!!!

It doesn't matter if I work it cool, hot, reduce slightly, heavily, poke it, leave it...etc, etc  nothing is working.

Could I ask someone who has colour from this glass on a HH to give me the 'Dummies Guide' to what I do? 

I will find a way of returning the favour but refuse to give up on this.

I find it works better if you wrap it around another colour but not totally encase the first colour. Then I heavily reduce it till it is as shiny as I can get it and then I encase it in clear (melting in quite slowly and not to hot). Hope that help. Susan

I am sick of this glass too! Am just about ready to chuck my rods in the bin so that they don't lie smirking at me. No matter what I do to it, what base I put it on, poke it, drag it about, sing to it, shout at it, nothing works. It just goes a milky white. Is it possible to get a bad batch?
I have done everything suggested by everyone. Am working on a minor with oxycon. Will have another try today, then that is definitely it!

Oh don't give up Carolyn!!

I was exactly the same as you and tried everything. I was getting really fed up as everyone was saying what a fabby and easy glass it was to use but I couldn't get it to do anything.
I had been trying it daily for about 2 weeks and then last night it just worked!! 

Unfortunalty I can't tell you anything I did differently except maybe my propane was a little lower the usual. Oh and it was a lentil that I kept having to reshape and put in the press so that might have been it, but saying that once it worked once on that one I found it really easy to get it to work on everything else.

Basically I'm not much help with regards to suggestions but just wanted to say don't give up as when you 'get it' it looks wonderful!

I think the trouble is that there are lots of variables - the batch you get - the mix you get in your torch - the kiln.......

on a different post someone put it over a base of trans red.

But if you're getting stuck - I'd put it away for a couple of weeks - then go back later for a try ............. otherwise you'll end up demented!
