Looking for tips on the new effetre Lilac Pastel and Lilac Dark Pastel

I ordered some of this last week and got to play with it tomorrow. All I've got out of it are boring pale grey beads! No difference between the lilac and the lilac dark.
I tried striking, zilch, and reducing, zilch!
How do I get lilac out of it?
I love lilac, but am not a fan of grey, so any help appreciated!!!!

I have no advice but glad I didn't get tempted then with these!
I cant ever get anything nice out of anything claiming to be lilac or violet, usually get something with a grey oil slick finish that needs a dunk in etch all and even then its yukky!

Not the same colour, but I got some lovely effects out of the aubergine by basically boiling it on the rod for a bit! Try it?
