I can see back in 2011 that there were problems with Effetre white being shocky, but a recent batch seems just as bad.  I've had it a couple of months but know it's not 'old' glass from my stash as I'd run out.  So far I've been through 3 rods, tried pre-heating in my warming kiln, and the way it was pinging around my shedio put the recent shooting stars to shame!  Other than pre-heating, any idea how to get some use from this (I don't need white frit)?  Well, at least it's reasonably cheap, would have cried more if it had been something a bit more expensive.

She's made of real glass. She got real real emotion. But my heart laughs I have that same sweet devotion!

How recent is recent? The pile I got a month or so back has been pretty perfect  :-\

I am despairing of Effetre Baby Pink - the last lot I had was frit on a stick.  Went to buy more at the Newbury bead fair, but looked at the rod ends first and you could see the little tiny air holes all the way through it - decided to pass!!

And I thought it was me doing something wrong   ::) - exactly the same fireworks going off here too!  Bought this batch a couple of months ago.

Probably a couple of months and yes it's like firecrackers!

If the baby pink is transparent, I have 2 packs of the stuff and so far is OK - perhaps the next pack will be firecrackers too :(

Anyone found a use for white firecrackers?

I have a batch of transparent amber like that when you look you can see the air bubbles running right down the rod.

No its the opaque baby pink that's the shocky number!

Oh goody, just white firecrackers then, was worried my shedio would look like Neapolitan ice cream!

If there is an air bubble running through the rod, you can preheat as much as you like, but it will be frit on a stick always. You could try and batch anneal the rods. Sometimes it helps.
