Chili Pepper kiln problem

Turned my kiln on this morning and left it to warm up. When I returned an hour later it was still hovering between 14-15 degrees. The little green light was coming on and it was making the usual noises, but there was no heat at all.
I tried the usual switch off/switch on again and got a PF2 error which suggests there was a power failure (apparently if that happens below 100 degrees it terminates the program) but it still won't ramp up.
Anyone have any idea what the problem might be? I hope he's not dead

Nope, but you could try giving Lee at Kilncare a call (www.kilncare.co.uk) - he's the font of all knowledge with regard to kilns (even ones he doesn't sell) and he may be able to troubleshoot for you over the phone. He's supposed to be a lovely guy and if you tell him that Frit Happens sent you along, I'm sure he will do his best to help....

Thanks for that Hellsbells. The sollution is "live" right now so we will see if it all goes well for Zen.

Sorry Helen, I forgot to say thanks for replying. I did get in touch with Lee and can confirm that he is indeed lovely and very helpful (are you blushing yet?)

Hopefully my replacement relay will arrive in the post today so I can try it.
I'm going out of my mind with boredom not being able to torch. I'm even thinking of doing some housework...

Cool, I'm glad Lee got you sorted. I've never had the pleasure of speaking with him in person, but I know he comes highly recommended in these parts, and I did buy my Beadcube from him which is lovely :-)

Oh lord! Chili pepper is back from the dead after a second replacement relay and it's running like a dream again. Only now I've got a maxi on order! What to do???
Anyone in the market for a well-used but well-loved kiln...?

Mate, I'm glad you have got the old boy running again.

You can simply take your MAXI off order, no problems, I know it is a lot of money to spend if you don't have to.

Let me know either way bud...I won't be mad....promise...
