I am after a round bead roller and Pegasys are out of stock at the mo and are away (by the looks of things).  I know Donna has them, but have been looking at Perlenpresse ones and wonder what the advice is from others about graphite vs brass (I know Kaz has just got some - lovely by the look of her beautiful knobs - brass rollers).  Thanks folks (of course if anyone has a round bead roller they want to sell!!!!! ;) ) :)

I noticed that Martin sells a brass rounds beadroller now too, at quite a good price. Although I haven't tried the brass ones so not sure how easy they are to use.

I've not tried a brass roller but didn't someone say a while back that glass 'sticks' more on brass than graphite?

That is what they seem to be saying on their site Sue, but I just wondered what folks think about them, they are a good price, I would like to wait till Pegasys have more in (like to try to buy local), but just in case it is a while... :)

I read somewhere (maybe on Perlenpresse) that a crumb of beeswax in the roller helped a lot with brass ones

Artistry in glass has a nice one:

I haven't heard of these before. If my quick 'currency converter'  is correct, they seem very reasonable in price , I wonder what shipping costs are like. Does anyone know if you pay similar customs charges on items from Canada as from US?

I enquired about postage costs to UK - for one roller they estimate it would be $30 to $35 Canadian dollars.

The customs charge is on value coming into the country from anywhere outside of the EU so I would think the US and Canada would be the same, depending on item price.

They are very cheap - roughtly £19 ($29.95CDN) - I'm used to paying £45.

When I ordered their marble one it came very quickly and without being caught by customs charge - it's a nice quality as well...  :D

OOh, thanks for the link Julie, these look very interesting, will have a good look when the sun (where did that come from) is not in my eyes anymore! :) :)

Please not if you do get charged ( and I did ) the Post Office charge another £8.00 to collect the VAT regardless of how much the VAT is plus for good measure you have to go to the sorting office to pay / collecet your parcel.

Hi. I have a Magdalena Ruiz multi tool which is brass. It was a bit grabby at first but Hubby rubbed it down with fine wire wool which helped it no end. It works fine now and feel a lot smoother but I know other people sisn't get on with them.

I emailed Pegasus last night and asked when stocks would be replenished, seeing Bev's partner had said he'd handed the website over a friend for now, else I'd not have bothered them.  Anyway, the answer was 'a couple of days' and Bev's feeling a lot better which is good news.

Brilliant Sue, I can wait a bit for one of theirs.  Good news to hear Bev is feeling better too.  :)
