Anyone know what it means when the controller is flipping between the current temperature and the word 'HOT' ???
I can't find any instructions so am stuck!

Kaz

I think it's just when it's cooling down and not reached final temperature and warning you to beware if taking beads out of the kiln? Mine does it. I could be wrong ???

That's odd because it doesn't usually take that long to cool ???

but good news if there's nothing wrong and I'm just being a twit ;D

sarah t

yep kaz mine does it too......kiln fairys done finished and your beads are hot  ;)

Sarah

And mine - I've always interpreted it as "be patient".....

Thanks all - just shows how much notice I usually take ::)

Now if I could just remember where I put the instructions for 'safe keeping' I won't have to ask any more stupid questions ;D

silverlemon

Yep. It's not an error message, or it would say it was  ;)

Mine flashes between the temperature and HOT when it's reached the end of the cycle and switched off to cool down alone.

Hi, you are all correct. The controller is being a little condesending >:( and presuming that you need to be told that any temperature above 100c is actually HOT......get away...you don't say!

Your KCR1 has done it's full program and finished. During it's cooling it alternates between the actual kiln temperature and the word HOT until it reaches 100c I think.
This only happens when the controller has finished and will not happen if the controller is cooling whilst running a program.

Nothing to worry about, just your controller asking for a good slap ;D

Thanks Lee - I think it's me who needs the slap for losing the controller manual ;D

Redhotsal

I thought "hot" meant "remove your beads now" rather than "be patient" ?  ;D
