Stupid question alert: which bead release comes with the basic Tufnells beadmaker kit? It's the brown sludge one, but it's not labelled.

:( Being a newbie is hard ;(

Yep im under the impression its fusion too, looks like all the other fusion i have seen  :-\

Veebee

No, Tuffnell's basic with the kit is NOT fusion!! The fusion Martin sells is flame dry, the sludge is air dry, and that fact IS important!

I've only air-dried...but some of release's properties have made me wonder if that's not right :-\

i must admit my flame dried ones seemed to be easier to get the beads off but that might just be me!

helenfc

mine is labelled fusion and definitely flame and air dries...from the starter kit from tuffnells in january :)

SilverGems89

Did anyone ever find out for definate? cause im gonna need some more soon  ;D

helenfc

im sure its fusion gemma, which starter kit did you get? if its the bulk hothead one, thats what i got with it  :)

Kalorlo

The bulk kit comes with Fusion in a white labelled bottle, but the basic kit comes with sludge. If you look at Tuffnell's site, you'll see the Ultimate kits say large fusion bead release, while the deluxe plus and basic starter kit say "2 pots of bead release" and have photos of little film canisters.

SilverGems89

The only thing is isnt it meant to be blue sludge, which would suggest it would be blue, mine isnt! its a browny grey colour!

Kalorlo

Heh, I have no idea what colour blue sludge actually is... But if you look under Mandrels and Bead Release on Tuffnell's you can either get blue sludge in a pair of canisters or fusion in a labelled bottle.

I suppose the big question is does it matter if you get the other one? If it's different you'll know once and for all! I like my fusion - beads come off easily. I air dry rather than flame drying.

i did look at the pics on the website and the blue stuff looks blue, but then i started to wonder if it was just my eyes!  ;D
I know plenty of you use fusion so im not worried about buying it, just i do like the stuff i have so if it is something else i'd probably be more tempted to buy that!
