I'm a bit worried. I Started to torch with my HH and mapp gas but the flame kept going out. the gas feels empty but when i took the hot head off the mapp was making a hissing sound and there was a strong smell off gas. but now the torch won't even light with that cannister. what should i do?

Have you tried covering the holes round the base of the torch when you light it?

You can just cover with your hand, or make a tinfoil "collar".

Hi
When I was using Mapp the container did hiss when I took the torch off to change the canister, I threw it into the garden and it stopped after a while. I never seemed to be able to get all the gas out, you could hear some sloshing even when you couldn't get the torch to light properly.

thanks for the replys.

well i wasn't sure what to do so i just sat with it on and my lighter untill it stopped hissing.

So i was finally able to change the cannister.

It may have frozen up.  It's a good idea to have two cans of mapp as I only ever got half an hour out of a tin before it froze up and I had to change tins.  Are you thinking of converting to bulk gas soon.

Redhotsal

Go bulk propane - dump the Mapp gas - it's rubbish and expensive.

Jivesjools

Yeah i know i should of just bought the kit when i was at the flame off. will order one from tuffnels tonight.

you won't regret it - and you can use it when/if you upgrade to a dual fuel!
