Whether you're an individual artist or managing a studio, an arts freelancer or working in a funded arts organisation, this year's forum is about your concerns and our community.

It's time for hard truths, some imaginative thinking but most of all, about creating a platform, where despite and because of our varied interests and experiences, we can come together.

The 'Glass Nexus' Forum will bring together a range of experts in the field of glass for two days of public thinking and private incitement to explore the hard questions we've been asking and the challenges we're facing will be answered with some realistic, achievable and visionary possibilities. Bright minds, stories to inspire, delight, provoke and rally you will come from far flung cities and our own back yards. Be ready to interrogate, ignite and bring these possibilities to life. Whether you're a maker or a shaker, your voice and answers are needed to shape the way ahead.

The board and team at North Lands Creative would like to extend a warm invitation to our 23rd annual forum. We are delighted to be working with forum partners Corning Incorporated Foundation and Creative Scotland to bring together this diverse community of artists and arts professionals to engage, debate and resolve the many challenges facing us.

As always, the forum is an opportunity for us all to connect, share our concerns and seek a new way forward, it is routed in an agenda that will pull us all together. This year our MC for the forum Dr Michael Rogers has brought a fresh approach and vitality to the programme, which explores new answers to old questions. In it we will look to the wisdom that artists can offer. We will consider the value and challenges of independence. We will hear stories of resilience and endurance. We will bear witness to big ideas and long-term vision.

The team at North Lands Creative has been working to ensure that this forum is about your concerns and that this is an opportunity to be heard on a global stage. This is your forum, your opportunity to broker new relationships with guest speakers from China, Japan, Europe and the US.

By working together we can find a way forward, team North Lands Creative look forward to welcoming you to Lybster in August.
