Right.  First ever post of creations.
Nervous? - just a bit.

Have been lampworking ~4 years now, but very much following in my wife's footsteps.  Shame is, she's pretty much given up now.

Well this is an attempt at creating more greenie/purply themed beads for a necklace / bracelet / earring combo which I'm trying to put together for a friend.

They are an extension idea for this bracelet I created before Christmas:

Which matched her bike quite well.

But tbh, I'm having the devil's own job finding a BRIGHT purple from which I can make the spirals.
Currently using either Reichenbach Opal Lilac OR Effetre 591271 Light Silver Plum.
Would either Effetre 591059 Mosaic BLUE or Reichenbach's Purple Rose be better / brighter?
The green is 591216 Opaque Grass Green and seems to be working OK when applied adequately when making the twisties.

Any advice appreciated.  Thanks,

Rob

I had a go at making mermaids using a tutorial by Marlene McDonald that was in Soda Lime Times back in July 2014. These are my first 2 attempts which I am quite pleased with. They'll be part of the range I sell at my local galleries here on the Island.

and last night I started making ruffled discs and couldn't stop!

Anyone else got anything to show?

Hello everyone,

Saw your mermaids on FB Linda love them!

Sooo it has been forever since I posted here, so for those of you not on FB here is some of my latest work.  The murrine is my current obsession and I will be bringing some with me to Flame Off to sell and I also sell some via the murrini and more group on FB, my plan is to get organised and list some to Etsy too but have not got it organised as yet.  Shame this Gallery thread is so quiet, it used to be buzzing a few years back

Finally got back on the torch after a 'very' long break. I decided to play a bit - I upgraded to a grownup torch and a oxycon so thought I would try DH Terranova 2.1  :) nowt special about the shape etc and not cleaned at this point, I took this image then put them in the kiln to anneal - they restruck to a dark red, so back in the kiln again to try to get more blues etc. back, if I manage it I will post a follow on image

Here's my latest piece, hung in the local theatre to accompany Ravi Shankar's opera, "Sukanya".
The centre is pate de verre, surrounded by mirror and sheet glass.
I feel like a proud mum!
