I discovered something today, it may not be new to a lot of you, but it was new to me!

So having just moved into a new space, I was without the vice I usually use for bead removal. After struggling for a while with a pair of rather inadequate smooth pliers, I found that the mandrels I'd marked with masking tape (a friend had been playing) were much easier to grip & came off quite easily. I grabbed the roll of tape & put a little tag on the rest of them. Hey presto!

So for anyone who finds themselves struggling with inadequate pliers, just add making tape...

Try sticking them in the freezer for half an hour or so, the mandrel contracts more than the glass
