Hi guys, just a quick question, I have recently set my lampwork studio back up and bought a Bethlehem pirahna torch from ebay, it's an older model on the blue cast base, its a fantastic torch but here's my problem, it's so hot that I'm not sure how to control it, I have previously had a minor and a bobcat, are these boro torches? And that explains the super heat? Any help much appreciated as I am considering seeing I can get a swap for a minor or similar,
Cheers

Just did an online search and it appears you can use it for either soft or Boro, although some people mention it can get VERY hot.

I've got one of them, but I haven't dared to use it yet.  Got it from someone on FH, but still happy with my minor for the moment.  May get it plumbed in for some boro nearer Christmas.

I'm not planning on doing any boro, I might try and sell or swap for something a little less bloodthirsty lol having said that its a beautifully made torch and whisper quiet, very good quality indeed x

I think that Angie Snelling has one of these, perhaps she can help!

Are you running on tanked oxygen or oxycon(s)? If oxycons, what sort (5L, 10L?)

I might be interested in swapping for a GTT Lynx if that appealed - that needs two 5L or one 8L/10L oxycon.

Watch this space for new Etsy shop . . .

I am looking for something hotter than my poor minor, which is a lovely torch but now I need something with more umph for my boro work.  Does the Piranha do bushy and pointy flames do people know, had a look on Bethlehem's website but it has been superseded now by the alpha and bravo.  I was looking at a Lynx or Cheetah, but some of the reviews of the GTT are starting to put me off a bit?????  I suppose you wouldn't want another minor?

And I have a mega minor sitting on the side doing nothing  :)
