Hi all,
I'm in need of some tips on how to get good 'puckers' on the ends of rounds beads made with a roller.
Mine always seem to end up a bit on the sharp side and not sure how to improve them?
Thanks in advance!

Don't get Shirley Giles started on this one!!  ;D

Basically if you want a puckered end on your round, you won't actually ever achieve a fully round bead - you need to stop slightly short of the width of your cavity, add and extra wrap of glass round each end near the mandrel and melt down as normal to achieve a pucker.

However, you can also make rounds with rollers that don't have puckers, and which are fully round.  They shouldn't have "sharp bit" either, but the end of the bead will basically be flat rather than puckered.

I'm not even going to attempt to tell you which is preferable, or acceptable, but basically both can result in a non "sharp" result.

I'm now off to run and hide before this topic gets controversial....... (People have VERY strong views on puckers!!)

It's the 'not sharp' bit that's important not necessarily the pucker.
The general idea is that it's not abrasive on stringing materials.
