I have been asked by my mother-in-law if I could make a small coffee table with one of my glass panels inserted.  I can of course make the glass panel but wondered if anyone knows where I could get the coffee table base from.  Preferable not too expensive and someone who could make it to my specifications as my kiln can only take up to 32cm square?

Just a suggestion, but if you like well made furniture, why not try to get one from a charity warehouse/shop. I often see vintage ones which are well made from the 50's onwards with inserts you could remove and replace with your own :)

Its worth remembering that glass fitted into furniture must by law be toughend or laminated if its offered for sale. To be safe you could bond your glass to safety glass so that if your mother in law drops something and breaks the glass it would be safer for her.
