Silverline regulator - Anyone got one?

I've just spent a very unsuccessful 2 hours trying to connect my torch to propane and, despite now being covered in fairy liquid, I still can't find the leak. I have tracked it down to the regulator though. Is anyone else sucessfully using a Silverline regulator? I'm deeply suspicious of the brand since one of their blow torches melted on me. I'm just wondering if I'm being too hard on the brand and there are people out there very happy with their regulator or if I'm right and should never have bought one in the first place....any thoughts?
