So, what's going on with my clear here?

I made this firey heart the other day, the clear I used was DH Zephyr, and I noticed whilst working it it was a little odd looking, but when I am adding the metallic black part, I really am only keeping the clear warm, not getting it too hot. It kinda looks like there is moisture on the inside of the bead - I know there isn't obviously ;D and there is a very feint feel of texture on the outside....

What's going on...??

Looks like the sort of pitting that sometimes happens when glass has been worked for too long, rather than too hot, if that makes sense. Almost an accumulation of heat over a period of time.

Was it a new batch, just a new rod or one you'd already used? Perhaps try just a few spacers and see what happens.

I reckon that's probably it Shirley, it does take me about an hour to make one of these hearts - annoying though,  because everything else is good!

(Btw my gold arrived today ;D ;D xx)

Glad to hear the gold arrived safely. Make sure you show us what you use it for :)

I like it - it looks like fire and water. Wonder if the metallic black has reacted with the clear?

That would be interesting Sal, it hasn't happened before, I recall the clear being a little cloudy when I was making it!

Made another yesterday, it's fine - thank goodness! ;D
