Great! 13kg should be about 120 hours I would think! Happy melting :)

120, that should keep me quiet for a while Shirley!

Just for other peoples info sake, we got the empty tank from the local tip for a small donation (£5).
They didn't have a propane one so we got a blue Calor Gas butane one. DH found on their website that they will swop the blue tanks and also the green patio gas tanks for a red propane one.

Saves hunting around for a correct empty tank.
Now we have a propane one I can always get a refill somewhere a bit more local.

Sally & Julie thanks for the info you really are a life saver.
DH even had a go at making a bead.
I will be melting away to my hearts content next week.
Next thing I'll want is a kiln. Got my eye on a Bluebird or Chili Pepper. :)

I'd just like to say (a lot late), that this topic saved my HH's life today! I was driven to distraction!

You can find anything on here if you search! ;)
NB. Do not touch hot rods of glass, it is stupid.

Here is the top:

It is a weldabilty 2.0bar regulator with three settings on the side 30, 20, 10.

Any help appreciated as I am starting to get really cross now!

Noticed you are using a 2 bar regulator - perhaps I am wrong but I thought that Hot Heads need a 4 bar.  I've got a 0.5 - 4 bar and use it almost fully screwed down.

Just noticed that this post was originally posted in 2007 - so hopefully the problem is sorted by now! ;D

And yep can't run a HH on a 2 bar I made that mistake (or rather the prat that sold me the regulator did mistaking my request for 4 bar as 0.4bar)
The only flame you can get on a fully open 2 bar is about half an inch high, will warm a room but has no hope melting glass.
Just thought I would mention that so no one else came a cropper there.
