I dont think people are really making jewellery with lampwork  beads as much now
Compared  to say 3 years ago, people cant afford to buy at the prices the jewellery makers have to sell at to cover the costs, course some people have money for luxury goods and presents are still spent on but seems to me hardly any lampworkers are selling at the moment and many old timers so to speak have  either given up entirely or needing other work to survive. And compare availability of lampwork beads niw with 3 years ago, jewellery making and classes, lampwork and jewellery, people selling cheaply after a few weeks torching, the govt leaving so many folks with very little income whether people work or not, theres more to it than pricing or underselling but i dont think it can ever be what it was a few years ago.

but how do you work out what to add for retail?? i never got told that one, and i dont want to add to much that i have scary prices :(

Generally double as most galleries will take 50%.  The simple basis I think is cost of everything x 2 = wholesale, wholesale x 2 = retail.  But you have to add in something for your overheads, tax, NI, cost of replacing/repairing tools when they conk out, your workspace etc etc to really be meeting your needs.

The spreadsheet I had was written by Chris Parry - chris-parry.blogspot.com, a bit of digging around on his old blog and I think you can get a copy here http://www.chris-parry.blogspot.co.uk/search/label/Spreadsheet

I followed the above and have now got a copy of the spreadsheet and ebook which are very good and will be very useful.
Now I can play all day as I retired from the 'proper' job....

i would like to thank everyone for thier input on this topic, i feel a bit happier knowing that its not just me having the pricing colly wobbles.
I have now adjusted my prices and am really hoping that when my shop goes live (when my duckies are ready) my prices seem right and people like my work.
