Cutting down mandrels

I have all three colours but use the black mostly. If you are thinking of buying, buy the black. I got them originally when I was cutting up bottles, but they have lots of other uses. Backs of cabochons if you don't have a flat lap as one example.

Added re tip... if you want to smooth the holes in a bead, using water, put the bead back on a clean mandrel and hold that way. It helps to keep a nice level opening.

I use husband to cut mandrels ... dont know what he does, but he is useful on occasions.

Me too :) he uses a hacksaw with a blade for metal

There are not enough hacksaw blades in the world for my husband to cut mandrels :(
