Alternative to bought moulds

It worked!  However the plate has cracked although as it was destined for the bin anyway I'm not upset. I can only assume that there was a fault with the plate (it was very bashed about). And it was cheap as chips from Morrisons (cost 99p if I remember rightly) and has been used as a dinner plate for at least 3 years so it owes me nothing!

I'm hopeless at getting pictures on to computer (also finding camera and actually taking pictures  ::)) so it may take a while before I get the finished article on here.

This is a terrible photograph (if I've managed to upload it) but at least it shows that the piece did survive! I think I need to go on a photographing glass course - seriously.

WOW,  Well worth the effort.

Unfortunately compressors powerfull enough for blasting do seem to be rather expensive. Well over £200 to lift the material and really push it through the nozzle. Try and get to use a set somewere before buying as there are several pitfalls waiting the unwary so a bit of hands on can avoid expensive mistakes.
