It's that "think of a name" game again.

I like Minx as well  ;D

If this hypothetical kiln was ever produced, when, hypothetically, might it be hypothetically on the hypothetical market??  ;D

Only I would really like to get a kiln in the not too distant future (pennies allowing  :( ) and wouldn't want to rush into a decision should other options be around the corner   ;)

Bit bored waiting for air products and apparently I can be sensible.

Salamander or Mantis

Salamander, is that a spanish sausage?  ;D ;D

A salamander is a lizard!!!!!! (or more precisely a common name for about 500 amphbious spieces)  duh! and most fantasy genres have them as fire breathing, weather real ones actually do or not is another question

tinker

Pinky and Perky?

Or Kaida is the Japanese name for little dragon, I kinda like that - or Norbert after Hagrid's little dragon - I know there's no flames involved but 'tis still hot  ;)

My soldering torches are named Big Bertha and Little Bob  :D

KC (as in KilnCare) and ...um...Tracey?     (I think I'm getting silly now so I'll stop thinking.... :-X ;D)

Or KC and KT? (Katie)

Well, hypothetically speaking, if I were to have one here now, built, powder coated in Kilncare Supermarine Blue and on a work bench outside my office, but awaiting the controller, that we would be hypothetically having specially built, then I would guess that one would be starting a pretty rigourous test period in about two weeks....hypothetically speaking of course.

At the earliest, if all this was anything other than heresay, it would be at least 6 weeks before production models rolled out of the doors. Hypothetically speaking ofcourse.

Seriously, the SC2 is darn good for the money so we are having to approach this in a bit of a radical way for us to be able to have a chance. We are still costing it out but the signs are very promising indeed.

I'm with tinker...

Pinky and perky was the first thing that sprang to my mind when you set the question...

:D

You can't call a kiln Norbert, that's my torches name.

So this hypothetical kiln... not going to use the KCR1 controller?

erm yes....erm no ...oooohh.
The controller will be the software of the KCR1 but due to the cost restraints on this unit we cannot use the KCR1.

However it will be the same components made by the same company but in a different style, so yes it is the KCR1 but no...it isn't.

Like I said, there are many things about this unit that fly in the face of what we consider optimum.
So we have been faced with the challenge of how we make a design that we consider not to be optimum...well..optimum.

It's a long story and no doubt in the fullness of time I will divulge all to you guys  but as I have said a million times, the SC2 is a tough act to beat but I think we have it.

Without saying too much about a kiln that is purely myth at the moment I can say that if it does make the shop floor then it will have a integral controller, based on the KCR1, mounted in the front panel of the kiln.
To make an example of us wanting to make optimum out of something that isn't optimum, we have stipulated that all components on the new controller are of the higher heat range to combat the controller being mounted to the kiln.. Well, that is if such a kiln exists in the first place. (
Lee takes one last  sip of his coffee, thinks about bed and wonders just how long he can keep this charade going for).

Joining in this a little late, but I like the sound of Minx.

BTW, if this is a hypothetical kiln, could we pay for it with hypothetical pennies?
