Map-Plus?

Have you tried using the mapp sized propane?
I used it before I went bulk, i think it's a bit slower than mapp (but not by much) and I think I could do 2 - 2/12 hours out of them.

I was searching the forum for info about this.

Down at the studio, another resident is a jeweler, and she has a miniature dual fuel two tank set up for her silver and platinum.  I noticed the propane looked exactly like a MAPP can, but she gets it for around £8 which I know is much cheaper than the yellow stuff.

The one she had was a black canister I think.

So I figured, its normal propane you use when you go to bulk, so could we use this on the Hothead? (and yes, I know bulk is cheaper, but currently I haven't got the time to sort it or the space to store it, and we haven't had the torch out much lately)

yep the black canister is the one as far as i recall it says Rothenberg on it.

I went through the whole well it's propane on bulk conversation with myself too. I thought what harm could it do (plus also swayed by hubbies penny pinching.)

So, you found it okay (before going over to bulk)?
