So glad this is up and running, I was only thinking about how good it would be to have this here earlier in the week.

I'm in :)

Are there minimum/maximum sizes for beads?

*heads for the fugly/orphan jar*

We can use just about any size bead that you care to donate. We have a number of programs and there is a place somewhere for almost every bead.
Thanks much,
Robert

There is a Facebook page for BoC UK Here: http://www.facebook.com/bechildcanceraware

And here is a quote from the e-mail I received from Sarah if anyone want to make some themed beads:

" I have taken on board your suggestion of a theme, and am going to jump straight in with that! Towards the end of this year (November time) we are holding a "Firewalk for Courage" fundraising event. Our goal is for each firewalker to carry 2 glass beads that represent/themed on fire/strength in their hand. They then get to keep one, and the other will go to a child in the program with a note from the firewalker offering their support and encouragement!"

How cool is that?!  ;D

Edit: updated the link to go straight to the page  ::)

Thank you for this. I will make some and go through my box of left over beads.
Are beads with larger holes any use? I'm thinking ease of threading here, do the children thread them up themselves, and do any of them suffer from dexterity problems? Threading big hole beads is easier.

We chose 3/32 as a standard but we can use beads with holes both larger and a little smaller. The cord will fit through 1/16 but it's harder to do it. Big Hole Beads are naturally welcome and we'd be very happy to see them.
Thanks much
