Extractor Question

Last week I went to the fabulous course, By George its Lush and it has inspired me to get myself properly set up.
I have now got a new torch an oxycon but I am having trouble getting the extractor right.

I have bought the whole kit from Tuffnells.

I will have to vent via a nearby window which is fine but I am not sure how to deal with the big metal cone device is it enough to sit it on the desk or should I somehow suspend it? How close should it be?? I want to be able to leave my stuff set up so because of that O only have a small area and the cone seems mighty large!!!

Any ideas would be welcome

I have my Loungio, with space at a premium.
I keep the cone on my workdesk with a large box underneath the desk for the rest of the vent kit. The cone is held in place by my Cars small tin bucket full of sand, both from the .99p shop. this holds my mandrels.
When I come to torch, I first turn on the kiln.
Then pull out the box with the silver piping and fan in it, string it all out to the kitchen sit the fan on an old orange and navy plastic Sainsbury crate and feed the silver piping out of the window. Plug it in.
I then wheel the oxycon from between my workdesk and dining room table into the kitchen next to fan, plug in and turn on.
Last minute turn on the fan.
It may seem a bit of a performance, but I intended making a go of this thing called lampworking, despite the lack of space

Thank you, I will look at the link, Steph I think my space is likely to be even less than yours !!
The actual fan was delayed so I have everything apart from that so I hope its not so huge that it won't fit!!!

You know I did do a search on here and looked at the wiki with no luck!!

The fan part is smaller than the cone.

You will be fine.

At some stage I will take a pic of my set-up. It's been described as 'bijou' 

Till then i will try to tidy up for that purpose
