Yes..that was a growl!

A warning...I bought some stuff for cleaning out bead release.

It was advertised on here last week, re making the holes REALLY clear for transparent beads.

Firstly, they didn't say it was grits...(I already bought some from Manda from when I first found FHF that I have't even used yet), secondly...it worked BRILLIANTLY, the insides are clearer than I could ever have imagined and I usually do a great job myself as I'm still paranoid, BUT I stupidly used it on my Antique Clear sugars 

I now have of 12:  6 that are ok....2 that are passably (so ok...no good) and 4 that have large bald patches

Awwww. That's tough. I hate re-doing things that I was perfectly happy with the first time - especially if my head and heart have moved on to something else.

How come you have bald patches on the beads. Did you tumble them with the grits?

I thought I rinsed it all away.

The last thing I do after cleaning beads is put em in my hand with a drop of Fairy, suds 'em, and give 'em the final rinse.

As I did this I felt gritty stuff. Maybe I HAD rinsed all the grit away...maybe I hadn't fixed the frit on securely enough.

Drat..that sounds the more likely option, Pat.

Thanks for making me stop and think about it. Now can you make me get into the mood to make the replacements?

i would not of thought the grit would make bald patches you need to work it for it do its stuff ......think it was more likely it was the 'sugar' knocking into each other knocking bits off
