Blocked nozzle!

I got glass down a nozzle on my minor torch, I've tried the pokey thing, a drill, everything and it wont budge, any advice/tips would be greatly appreciated, it is truly driving me out my mind!

5.45am, spent many hours trying to remove glass must now concede I'm an idiot and it is impossible! One momentary lapse in concentration has ruined my torch head.

Could you try heating the torch head up (not sure what with though) then dipping the head into cold water to shock the glass, then maybe a bit of gentle persuasion will bring the glass out. That's what I'd try!!

What about heating the nozzle gently with a hand held cook's blow torch and maybe the glass will shock off.... haven't tried it, but maybe it will work?

I had a similar problem and Emma at Tuffnells advised me to do a similar thing to what Bev suggests - run the torch for a couple of minutes to heat it up (assuming it will light - mine had a couple of blocked nozzles and wouldn't work properly, but it would light and get hot) then quickly plunge it into a bowl of cold water and tap on the side.

I had to do it a few times but it worked brilliantly!

If there's glass visible on the surface you should be able to chistle it off with something sharp - or even file it, if filing try to remove as little of the face of the torch as possible. If the glass is down the nozzle you should try to get the pokey thing to pass freely through all the holes - and there are holes which aren't round - the spaces between the round holes need cleaning too. It might be worth connecting the torch up to a compressed airline and have the compressed air try to clear any blockage.

I'm not standing near you lot at the tyre inflator thingy - not if you are going to shoot me with bits of glass!
